Description:

The Pro Series Carbon Fiber Hans Device is the same device worn by racers from Formula 1, Indy Car and NASCAR. If you want the lightest, most comfortable device on the market, the Pro Series is for you!

* Hand formed carbon fiber
* Available in 10, 20, 30 and 40 degree for various seating applications
* Fits most racers in most cars
* Available in Super Small, Small, Medium and Large sizes

How to Order your Hans(all models)-
Version- Choose 10, 20, 30 or 40 degree angle to match your seating configuration.
10 Degree-The more upright you sit the less of an angle you will need. As a rule, sprint cars and other vehicles with an extreme vertical seating position use a 10 degree.
20 Degree-Oval track cars, road racing sedans and most seats with a slight angle as would be found in a passenger car will require a 20 degree angle; the 20 degree is the most popular.
30-40 Degree-Open wheel cars or car with layed back seating style will require a 30 or 40 degree angle. See image at bottom of this page for more information.

Choose Your Size-Use neck size chart at the bottom of this page.

Helmet Anchor-
Post Anchor- is the standard that allows tether to be removed with a slight push-and-slide motion.
QuickClick- helmet anchors allow fast release of the tethers with a push button release (see image Gallery).

Helmet Mount-There are two types of mounting systems for the helmets, but SA being the most common. If your helmets certification tag on the inside says SA2010, order SA helmet mounts. If your helmet's certification Tag says SAH2010, order SAH helmet anchors.

Tether Type-(Sport is only available with sliding Tethers)
Sliding Tether- Allows for about 20 degrees of left-right helmet movement.

Carbon Fiber Pro Series or Composite Sport Series?
Some models are available in different series. The only difference is weight - all HANS Devices offer the same class-leading protection. The Professional Series weighs about 1 pound and the Sport Series weighs about 2.25 pounds, the Sport II weights 1.75lbs. Weights vary due to size and accessories.

Choosing and Fitting Your HANS Device

1. SEATBACK ANGLE
For comfort the HANS should match the angle of your seatback.
  • MODEL 10 - EXTREME UPRIGHT SEAT
    Fits some Sprint cars.
If you sit very upright and cannot get comfortable with a Model 20 try this Model.
  • MODEL 20 - UPRIGHT SEAT
Fits all sedans including NASCAR, Busch, Sprint, Midget, Quarter Midget, Drag, Modified, Bandalero and similar. All sportscars including Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Honda, Viper etc. All Panoz Racing Series cars. Marine applications including UIM and Drag Boats.
  • NOTE: Drivers over 200 lbs. may find a Model 30 more comfortable in vehicles like those listed above.
In all cases driver comfort is the deciding factor.
  • MODEL 30 - SEMI RECLINED SEAT
Fits Formula Mazda, Atlantic, Infiniti Pro, Barber Dodge, IRL, C/D Sports Racer, Formula 1 and similar.
  • MODEL 40 - RECLINED SEAT
The Model 40 is a rare application and fits extremely reclined seats such as Vintage Formula Ford.
Many people who buy a Model 40 return it for a Model 30. Please measure your seat (use an angle meter available at DIY-type stores) before ordering.

2. HELMET ANCHOR INSTALLATION
The HANS Device attaches to your helmet via two metal anchors. 90% of our customers install their own anchors - all you need is a 1/4 inch drill and measuring tape. Devices come with instructions plus a special installation tool. If you prefer we will install the anchors for you as an extra cost option. Please select this service in Parts and Accessories to let us know you prefer this.

3. PROFESSIONAL SERIES and EXTRA SERIES
Some models are available in lightweight (Professional) and regular (Extra) series. NOTE: Extra formerly called Economy.
The only difference is weight - about 6 - 8 ounces depending on size. There is no performance difference between the series.
